This is not how you fix things. You need to fix the root cause not cello-tape it (well i'm a programmer :D)

Man India tops the list of most polluted cities:

It's old yes but what i'm saying that all of top 40 are Indian cities. The lowest 40 polluted cities have good variety

This is what I expected that time a few years ago when Delhi replaced Beijing as most polluted city.Rest assured the Indian entries will only going to be increased on this list in near future.

And until we can eliminate it, best thing is to avoid it?

Should have made this tower instead of the statue:
China builds ‘world’s biggest air purifier’ (and it works)

See my above TOI cartoon post,no time for all this "tower/shower" when there are more important things to be considered by political parties.:D

Some drastic actions without fearing for vote banks. Some drastic measures needs to be taken now like Beiging. Read here what they did: Pollution in China - Wikipedia

People start judging party for implementing odd-even and also expect the pollution levels to go down in just 15 days. That's not how it works. Measures takes time to implement. Unless government is ready to take drastic measures, and we take efforts to face some inconvenience, not much can change.

Sadly, we are democracy and not communist. So changes takes time here.

But that's the thing. Communism is what leading them to sky rocket their progress in such a long time.
I am not advocating that communism is better but that a democracy is something that hinders progress. Democracy assumes that people under the democracy are educated enough to take correct decisions, atleast be smart enough to understand the harsh decisions taken by government. But no. We prove time and again that we dont deserve democracy. Not atleast we can understand it properly.

Nothing is perfect, everything comes with a price. However I would rather live a bit less by inhaling polluted air compared to living a bit more under "chinese/communist state control".

it's all about what govt wants to do. china has already made it next to impossible for aam individuals to get a new licensed fossil fuel two wheeler for regular use. (new such two wheeler regn fees are as much as 35lacs per bike)
and they are blue printing the bans of oil cars in very near future.

China to ban production of petrol and diesel cars 'in the near future'

Four Years After Declaring War on Pollution, China Is Winning

while they are banning oil vehicles, they are also ensuring people get enough comfortable mass transport options to roam around.

Even the O2 cans are sold online for Pure Air
