Hi ithehappy,
I bought a panasonic ES-4036 shaver some two months back. I looked out and compared many models before buying it and finally decided to go with this because it matched my budget and had good reviews also. I used it exactly for two shaves only. I previously got used to trimming my beard with panasonic ER206. I trim/shave only once in a week and my beard is a bit rough(because of countless razor shaves). Compared to trimmer, I felt this shaver takes hell lot of time. Also, it doesnt shave long hairs. You need to trim it to small length first and then shave it(helpfully, it comes with a built in popup trimmer). Finally after some online research i came to know that all electric shavers are like that only. I have decided to stay with my ER206 trimmer only (saves me a lot of time though close shave is not possible).
i think electric shavers are useless for rough beards! Atleast the 2k 3k ones... Mayb the costlier ones are good! So think twice... Razor shave is really good, but your beard gets tougher and tougher with time which we can avoid by using a trimmer (no idea about electric shavers though!)... If you are looking for a trimmer I can vouch for the ER206.. Just go ahead and get it...
btw, I din know wat to do with the shaver i bought and listed it again for sale in ebay(i bought it in ebay only!).. mayb you can check if you are STILL interested...
