Its for my dad...... He will use it for making calls, checking emails, browsing internet, some apps(basic ones).......... He is pretty much ready to buy Canvas HD

I'd suggest SXL

You can also consider Xolo X1000. It is a very Solid & Premium looking phone with great IPS Display made by Sharp.

X1000 was rejected due to ICS OS but still it costs 18k...... Budget is 15k... 16k max

With canvas HD, that time will come soon.

Why not Lava Q800 ?
It has a magnetometer and QHD to 720p.. difference isnt that much noticeable

Actually he liked its display, used his friend's Canvas HD
Moreover he said that 5" screen is better for browsing & dual SIM is nice addition(suggested him L9 too)

Im not saying it wont run for a year but MMX A116 lacks a magnetometer.. That is why compass apps wont run, neither will you be able to use advanced functions of navigation app..

That's bad, but my dad would rarely use Maps..... whenever v are travelling to new places, I'm with them. So I will just use my S2

Quatrro will run for 2-3 years easily but its hardware is piece of crap.......A5 quad core ?? I think Canvas HD is better, I'm sure it will work for atleast a year.
I'm still trying to convince my father for buying Xperia L or L9

@OP; once again, I'm suggesting not to go for canvas HD. The service center guys are themselves frustrated by MMx devices.

Does any of your relative or friend/neighbour own an electronic store? If yes, make him/her talk to your dad about canvas HD.
In extreme case, tell him to actually buy canvas HD and then say "akkal thokar khane ke baad hi aati hai" (no offence).

My dad didn't like L9 & Xperia L(too stylish). So he is taking my S2 :shock:

. His budget was 15k, so added my pocket money, 11k, and planning to get Nexus 4 :-D

@anupam_pb. better try to get sony xperia zr. indiatimes shopping is giving 15% discount.

That's also a great phone, with water resistance.....but still SONY, this is a Nexus.

Moreover my budget is really tight, 26k exact(15k +11k)

Thanks.......gave order at Univercell locally @ 25.5k, phone coming from Chennai, so will get it day after tomorrow

A friend of mine got the HTC One X 64 GB for 26k from Snapdeal. It's a good dela imho.

Ya, that's a good deal too, but still Nexus has a different story: powerful processor & more RAM than One X....... direct updates from Google, good dev support.......

One X , S3 & Xperia SP are great options for those who just need a good phone for daily, normal usage. For geeks, Nexus is there !!
