baba goodone. its Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H

It will be even better if you can spend 1k more and get AMD Phenom II x6 1055t for 7.6k. great performer and futureproof.

ok -

Components | Make | Price | Comments
Processor|AMD Phenom II x6 1055t|7500|otherwise look at AMD Phenom II x4 955BE @ 6.5k if you cant spend more. but this is much more futureproof
Motherboard|Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H|4000|alternatively you can look at Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H @ 5.5k. its a full atx and recommended if you will add cards > 9" like HD6850 in general
| Total |11500|

you have DDR3 ram.
psu is separate from budget? if yes i will suggest a Corsair VX450W @ 3.5k. will allow you to add upto 6950 or 560 in future.

Yes, Phenom II 955 BE is actually what he needs.
But still a 6-core proccy is a very good decision for a future proof system.

My vote also goes to phenom 2 x6 1055t. Its very good in multitasking and completely worth its price over a 955be.

My final PC config which i bought 2day:
1. AMD Phenom II x6 1055t - 7600 Rs
2. Gigabyte GA-880G-UD3H - 4450 Rs (Was trying for 880GA UD3H -- No stock currently)
3. G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL - 3062 Rs
4. Corsair VX450W - 3300 Rs
5. Cooler Master Elite 430 - 2350 Rs

Above prices + 5% VAT

i already had 500GB seagate SATA, 24" LED AOC monitor ( i wud have preferred Samsung PX2370 though :( ) ..

Do i need to update any bios settings to optimize processor speed?

A really good config indeed.
But why is the RAM so costly. It would have been 1k cheaper.

Mar 6, 2011 at 8:37 AM
Yeah i thought so :) .. he decreased the price a bit in other components and increased on RAM..

I was expecting it to be around 2.6k as jaskaran mentioned.. but he said at 2.6k u would get at 1066 MHz.. 3.1 for 1600MHz... as he didnt hav the other stock i went for this.. lost touch with the hardware details/descriptions ... :)

i am also planning to add WiFi . is pci slot better or USB.. can any one suggest some models?

With this system configuration, while watching HD movies, i can see the video moving in frames most of the times (it doesn't look like a continuous stream) . Any suggestion what setting i may be missing?

1. AMD Phenom II x6 1055t
2. Gigabyte GA-880G-UD3H
3. G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL
4. Corsair VX450W
5. 24" LED AOC HD monitor
