AMD Athlon 64 [Socket 754] based systems do NOT support Dual Channel DDR Memory.
It is supported only on Socket 940/939

Oh yes the socket 754 does not support dual ch memory, whereas the new 939 supports this.This alone could push them perform much better in memory intense tasks than the 754s.
