Options you can consider: Motorola Defy+, Dell Venue

If you can stretch your budget, get Neo V.

This thread can help you.

IMO, Mobile Store has unreasonable pricing. Buy from some local store.
B
Apr 30, 2012 at 11:53 AM
"unreasonable pricing"????

and i also have w8 which i will sell off how much will that sell for 5 months still left for guarantee to end no scratches

Apr 30, 2012 at 12:21 PM
I don't have any idea about Venue.
And Defy+ display is not so impressive.
Ray has a small screen so no for that.
So I suggest you to get Desire S for 16k, that is the best you can get.

The price fall won't make you scream "wohooo". There'll be subtle price fall.

1. NeoV ---> you can consider. looks great
2. Xperia Ray ---> if you are into photography. else forget it.
3. Defy + ---> other than a rugged screen has nothing of particular interest. cheap.
4. Dell Venue ---> discontinued long ago.
5. Desire 5 ---> its S, not 5. same as Neo V but should have better build. nothing else.
6. One V ---> Only if looks matter and found within 17k. else overpriced.

replies in green.

Even I thought that Venue is discontinued by the company but right now its available on flipkart and it has also got very good reviews on flipkart. Strange but true...

It's strange that no one suggested Sony Live With Walkman retailing at 13.5k which has a 3.2" screen and a single-core 1GHz processor like the OP asked.

@osthe: i did plz tell me how is it??

can anyone tell me any trick by which i can trick my parents into thinking this phone has gone kaput??
aroraanant
May 1, 2012 at 11:43 AM
Live With Walkman is a great phone, it was not suggested because of its small screen size.
B
May 1, 2012 at 12:22 PM
please compare neo v with live with walkman
aroraanant
May 1, 2012 at 12:42 PM
They can't be compared, Neo V is phone with a screen size of 3.7" while LWW has a 3.2" display.

online: not even 5k. locally: 7k or maybe less.

Do you mean to say selling online will fetch a much lower resale price?? And by "locally" do you mean selling to some mobile shop?

As for SE LWW, the battery is widely reported to be quite poor. Thats the main drawback.

yup. We all know latest is Android 4.0 and X8/W8 is still on Android 2.1 with no update from Sony. Also the hardware is quite poor. If you try to sell it in any forum, starting price have to be 5k to expect a sale.

Locally you may try shops also. But usually they'll offer you even less. Cause they know W8 is discontinued now. Selling to someone directly will fetch more. say 7k.

Thats what - I always thought selling a mobile (any) will fetch more if you can find a direct buyer online. So why do you say this one will fetch only 5k in a forum?? One is selling directly to a user-buyer in a forum, isn't it?

Why Desire S better choice than Neo V ?
aroraanant
May 4, 2012 at 3:26 PM
^^^^^^
I suggest you to get your hands on both and then the pick the one which you personally feel is better:
All the options available i.e. Incredible S, One V, Desire S, Neo V are good.
But if you want to choose one among desire S and One V then I think One V is a better pick, Neo V build quality is not so impressive otherwise the phone is very good.
If you want a good cam and a big screen then Incredible S is best for you

Xperia U is recently launched, so can't say much about it.
But is the only phone in that price bracket which has got a dual core processor.
Get your hands on that device, and if you like it then get it.

It doesn't have expandable memory slot.

tms(the mobilestore) website says optimus black for 17k how is it?
coderunknown
May 10, 2012 at 3:56 PM
avoid black. has a series of problem. and it'll get ICS update when we have Android 5-6. instead go for One V, Incredible S or even Optimus 3D (just for the powerful h/w).

May 10, 2012 at 5:00 PM

To hell with both, get Xperia Sola, dual core 1GHz processor, mail 400 GPU, 265ppi 3.7" screen, floating touch, 5mp camera with sweep panoroma and 720p recording. Also support micro sd card. What more can anyone want. This beats One V easily.

Check it yourself: *www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_sola-4408.php

Should be around 16-17k.
B
May 11, 2012 at 9:44 AM
@tkin: sola for 16-17k?? no way man it near 19

Now i got interested in the Dell Venue again :(

Earlier when i mentioned Dell Venue someone said Dell is out of the mobile business so we should stay away. But Venue mostly has positive reviews , except for some problems like Customer Support and charging issues.

Is the screen as good as it looks in those Video Reviews ? How bad is the Adreno 200 compared to Adreno 205 ?
