I am looking for an ASIC Bitcoin miner for around 7-8k. Doesn't need to be energy efficient (free electricity) but high mining rate. Also I am a complete newbie at Bitcoin mining so any other suggestions would be nice.

I don't think 8k will give a decent miner

For those who don't know about bitcoin do watch this excellent video (which explains nicely)

I live in Jodhpur. And how much would a sufficiently good miner cost?

Not to discourage you but individual mining like this just isn't worth it now.

When there are dedicated datacenters deployed in mining, is there anything left to mine for individuals .. ?
