When i "right click" on any file or drive and "click", say for example "Scan E:\", it doesn't respond at all. No quick scan msg comes on the screen like in avast 4.8...

its working for me, re install and see.
ya it happens sometimes due to improper installations! I've that problem of Context Menu options of WinRar
