Wave 575 @8200/- is a good handset. meets all your requirements. good 3.2cam, 3g, wifi, 3.2" capacitive touch screen, mp4 video player

only limitation is it does not have front video camera.

Best VFM phone for under 10k is LG Optimus One.

* Android Froyo 2.2 (Moddable to 2.3 Gingerbread)
* 600 Mhz processor (Can be OCed to 730 Mhz)
* 512 MB RAM (Smooth browsing)
* 3.2" Screen HVGA Resolution (320 x 480 for crisp text and graphics)
* 3.2 MP Camera, 18 fps VGA video recording

I highly recommend LG Optimus One...

nothing beats O1 in that budget but usually priced at 10.5-11k. worth the extra cost.

Nokia C5(around 7.5k, 3G with small screen) or E5(around 10k, feature-rich)
And Samsung Monte is good indeed considering the features it provides at such a great price- 3" capacitive touch, 3.2 MP cam, 3G, Wi-Fi, front cam

monte's only problem. its not a smartphone. it runs Samsung's propitiatory OS.

^^ Exactly. Monte is not a smartphone. Even Symbian-based Nokia 5230 is a better platform in that price.

H/W wise monte is slightly better but both Nokia 52** & Monte uses resistive screen.this should change this year BTW as cheap Androids are shipping with capacitive screens.

^^ Monte has capacitive screen & not a resistive one.

I think so. The only propitiatory OS based phones from Samsung would be the Star ones.

its wise to waste 10k on a smartphone than 9k on a dumb phone or semi-smartphone.

big screen, low resolution & bad battery backup, less ram. go for it if bad backup & low res screen not your concern.

Which one of these have the best battery Backup?
I have almost the same budget, Considering to buy Samsung G Pop but the reviews tell it will face App conflict due to screen res
And Why should I consider Monte or 52** when Android Cheapos are flooding the market?
(Not the Rheotorical Question, I need the answer to this as I've got this question everytime in my mind)

Why would anyone suggest Monte or 52xx series phones unless your budget was that low? Just save some money and buy an Optimus One. Battery life is excellent.

The Samsung Monte may be a budget phone but in so many ways it over-delivers. I love the feel of the phone and the capacitive touchscreen user interface with one-touch access to facebook, twitter, youtube and the BBC iPlayer. The phone is packed with features such as GPS with Google Maps, Wi-Fi, 3G video calling, generous onboard memory and outstanding battery life. The camera is relatively weak, but ain't too bad when you consider the price. All things considered, the Monte gives you a lot for your money.
