My brother is planning to get his first android phone in 5000 INR budget max extended upto 6000 if really justified.

It will be better if the phone has excellent battery life[1 full day of heavy usage] & is sturdy enough to sustain few drops from his 2yrs old toddler. The phone may have to undergo Water Spill & Food drop test as well from him[already 2 fones on the verge of dying]

1. Budget?
Around 5k max upto 6k if needed

2. Display type and size?
whichever fits best in this budget

3. Form Factor? bar, slider, flip?
Bar type preferred

4. Preferred choice of brand?
Any, but it should have good service support

5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).
Touchscreen

6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.
Can compromise here

7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
Android ICS preferred

8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.
Both 3g & Wifi preferred but can compromise 3g for better specs like ICS, 512 ram, battery, internal memory & WVGA display[Micromax Smarty 4.0 A68?]

9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?
All

10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?
youtube videos, Mails & casual surfing, basic gaming

11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
lenovo A60+, Micromax Ninja 3 A57, Micromax Ninja 4.0 A87, Micromax Smarty 4.0 A68, Lava Iris N400

12. Any other info that you want to share
Mobiles with 1ghz processor & 512 mb ram preferred, Dual GSM Sim required, Earpiece Volume should be very loud & clear in noisy areas.

Thanks in Advance

Judging from the Built Quality & battery life which is better ??
Sturdiness is most important factor for him.

battery life should be same in both. both have exact same internals and almost same battery. about sturyness, search for reviews or comparisons. phonearena, gogi, etc usually post some nice comparisons.

maybe it'll clear some of your doubts. go through it.

Micromax A68 review – Smarty 4.0 is it better than the Karbonn A15?

Sam, Isn't Lava Iris N400 better than A15. It has low inbuilt memory but all the applications can be transferred to Memory card... and then it also has better camera with video calling & a batter battery.
