I'm planning to buy a motor bike. My requirements are sporty look and performance, good mileage. 150cc is must. TVS APACHE RTR 160 HYPER EDGE is my choice. I want to know about it's Maintenance cost. I don't want pulsar. Can you tell me how is Yamaha FZS and FZ16?

buy FZ-16.. its worth..
If u have a gal friend then this bike s for u...!
the rear seat is designed so that ur gal has no option other than leaning on u .!
but it ll not be comfortable for aged persons to sit for a long time..!
Avg is 40km/lt in city

I'll also say FZ-16 because Yamaha bikes are great.

I had Yamaha RX-100. It was excellent. ;)

I dont want Pulsar. Because FZ16 gives 40kmph i put it down. So i've decided to go for APACHE. Looks are impressive, very good mileage for an sport bike, good performance too.
@pulkitpopli2004 I dont have a gal friend. I dont want too. I want my dad or mom to sit with me.

TVS bikes are fine. I have a TVS Bike : TVS Flame. It's pretty good as I am concerned.

Apache is a good choice as well; great pickup, nice looks and good performance to boot.

^ tell that to someone else. Me and my mates have done tripling with FZ-16.
It does have smaller space though, tripling is easier with my bike than my mates FZ-16.

^^^Oooo.....I do a 5ling all the time during night hours when we want something to eat....Once a 6ling on my pulsar 150.

By the way, for the thread creator.......I guess u have made up ur mind.....My opinion....TVS APACHE 160RTR Hyper Edge doesnt look cool in any way compared to a yamaha....in short its looks suck balls.

Yamaha has a better ride in any way and looks to die for.

Peace~~~!

TVS apache rtr Hyper edge..:
pro's : Looks good , Great handling , Awesome Pickup , and well balanced bike
short wheelbase make it quick at the corners..
Con's : vibrates like hell after 6-8 months , seating position not idle for long journeys

fz-16
pro's : killer street looks , great pickup coz of awesome low rev torque ,
overall standard vehicle.
con's : low mileage , lot of front suspension problems , service is a problem

AFAIK . tvs service is not so bad ( as a owner of tvs apache , n scooty )
but can definitely better than YAMAHA's

not TVS Apache....its engine is not at all smooth...breaks r too tight...and gearing is hard..

i am a unicorn rider...its soundless...seat is big...and engine is smooth...just that it dont look macho like fz16

I just love fz16 looks:mrgreen:

@IronCruz: Answer the below Questions.

1). Height.
2). Day Commuting or Cruiser.
3). Budget.

IMO add few more & get a Royal Enfield.

Pulsar 150/180:
(+) Affordable Bike, Looks good & Avg Performance.
(-) Engine is not refined, not smooth at all.
(-) Bajaj Quality Sucks.

Yamaha FZ16 or FZS: Seriously not for Long trips.
(+) Sporty Looks & Raw Performance.
(+) Ridings Position is good, but Pillion driver will suffer.
(-) Engine is not refined, not smooth at all.

Apache:
(+) Nice Features & Performance too.
(+) Nice Riding Posture.
(-) Vibration on higher speeds.

Pulsar 220 - Carburetor Version:
(+) Serious Performance. & sweetly priced
(-) Engine is not refined, not smooth at all.
(-) Bajaj Quality Sucks.

HH Karizma ZMA:
(+) Looks good, Avg Performance & Nice or Awesome for Cruising.
(+) Nicely Refined Engine.
(-) Pricey & Mileage Sucks.

RE Thunderbird:
(+) Speechless Performance.
(-) High Waiting Time [in south part part]

Throwing in the Suzuki GS150R and Yamaha SZ-R

Suzuki GS150R
(+) Good Performance and Comfort
(+) A sixth gear for long drives
(+) Digital Console with Gear indicator !
(-) Average pickup and looks like a slightly big Unicorn

Yamaha SZ-R
Affordable 150cc bike with overall decent looks and performance.
Nothing stands out that is a big + or -

Pulsar 150/180:
(-) Engine is not refined, not smooth at all.
(-) Bajaj Quality Sucks.
(-) Throttle response sucks.
(-) Can't lean too much, you get a bad feeling yourself(with Pillion rider)

Yamaha FZ16 or FZS: Seriously not for Long trips.
(+) Sporty Looks & Raw Performance.
(+) Ridings Position is good, but Pillion driver will suffer.
(-) Engine is not refined, not smooth at all.
(-) While racing 80-100Kmph takes too long compared to other bikes in its class

Apache:
(+) Nice Features & Performance too.
(+) Nice Riding Posture.
(+) Throttle response.
(-) Vibration on higher speeds.

Suzuki GS150R
(+) Good Performance and Comfort
(+) A sixth gear for long drives
(+) Digital Console with Gear indicator !
(-) Can't lean too much, main stand scratches the ground.
(-) Average pickup and looks like a slightly big Unicorn

I have to disagree on that part.. My bro has this bike, beats a P180 handily.. (tested)

After all every bike's performance depends on the way u treat them during their break-in period..

For FZ16, FZS & Apache RTR
(+) Can lean all the way you want.(with Pillion rider)

Do not go for FZ, my friend pays 1500 for each service, parts are very expensive. Pulsar is good and low maintenance, but sucks quality. Unicorn is smooth with outstanding quality engine fit and finish.
