Hi All,

Currently I am using a MS keyboard. I am looking for a change now. Can someone suggest a budget keyboard for gaming around 2K?? All I need is backlit keyboard and am not interested in bells and whistles like macros (I don't mind if they come in the budget though).

Regards,
Rakesh

Its priced 3.1K in FK.

I am looking for something within 2K and not necessarily a gaming keyboard with the whistles and bells. I only need the backlit :)

Logitech G100 combo has a budget gaming keyboard.. which is VFM considering the price
Dont go for Razer Cyclosa bundle, its overpriced and not VFM

not many backlit keyboards under that price buddy.. :/

Both are good it depends on your pattern of usage. Havoknation sells X6 for Rs 2000 ,I believe I read it somewhere in this forum. Get it if it really comes at that price.

There...........

No no no, stay away from X6, it has a huge ghosting issue, pressing ctrl disables the R key, go for X4.

can someone temme if merc is good compared to g105?? I mean will the gaming pad help?? I think it should be something helpful for me as I always keep my keyboard titled upwards on the left side to make my gaming posture comfortable.. and this is exactly what I might be looking for..

But my question is, is the gamepad really smooth and easy to use??

Hold down RIGHT SHIFT + LEFT SHIFT and type this:

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

You most likely will notice that some keys don't register. This is normal on most keyboards (excluding mechanical) without anti-ghosting.Its absolutely normal for all membrane keyboards. But it wont affect WASD. So its a non issue. Pressing ctrl dissables any key let alone R .!!

Yeah, but X6 had the issue when pressing left ctrl a bunch of keys got stuck, think like this, you are crouching(holding ctrl) and you can't reload(r), its a killer problem and no gamer could be happy with a such a keyboard, X4 has no such issues hence recommended: *www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&suge...15e8a6a6cd&biw=1610&bih=867&es_nrs=true&ion=1

Merc Stealth is something that you have to grow in to. And if you manage that its great. If you are not a hard core gamer better get a normal layout keyboard.

The thing you are talking about is 2010 issue and has been resolved many moons ago.

X4 doesnt seems to be available anywhere online.

I am still waiting for my earlier query that is it worth the extra 500 bucks for merc compared to G105?
Planning to buy one of them as X6 is ruled out.

Show me a link where it says it had been solved?

PS: No driver updates, it was a hardware issue.

Nope, merc has weird aesthetics, hard to get uses to unless you can adapt fast.

Logitech is great , and so is their after sales. So go with it if you are not heavily in customization and macros. If you are in to then get the Stealth. The stealth has ofcourse better build.

Hehe I knew somebody would come up with the ghosting problem. I have the Sidewinder keyboard too but its not suitable for gaming. I can make do with it because I am not a serious gamer and hardly play fps.

On the plus side, it has killer professional looks with sexy red backlit keys which look awesome in a dark room. That's what attracted me to the Sidewinder. Most gaming keyboards look like fancy toys.

That's why I suggested the Sidewinder X4, amazing keyboard at amazing price, but the pathetic microsoft distributor in India stopped importing it :banghead: it was a beauty

What the.....every device ,peripheral built can have manufacturing issues that dosnt mean that all the devices built are bad. There are scores of reviews and users who praise the X6 and many who had issues with it too. Its normal. And I explained the ghosting issue is inherent with membrane keyboards. Google and read. You will come out clear on that.

Its not a manufacturing issue with a few unit, its a hardware bug, and yes, while I can't press a dozen keys on a USB keyboard, but all gaming keyboards apply special anti ghosting methods, around wasd clusters, the ctrl buttons, space etc, the X6 has the issue if you press left ctrl it locks up the r key, so no reload while crouching, that's the death scenario in most shooters.

And in the last page. even a gawd damn X6 owner said that X6 is useless for gaming, what more proof do you want? Do you own the X6?

which one is supposed to be more expensive ? X6 or X4.. if it is X6, X4 should be even cheaper no ? O_O
Logically X4 is cheaper, but you see, it has terrible ghosting issues and most people avoid it, they go for X4, so the demand is high for X4, hence overpriced, and the X6 is no longer sold, even if you could snag a unit its a stock clearance sell, hence the cheap price.

Microsoft India has stopped importing both(X4 and X6), you have to look locally for old units, but best to avoid it as you'll have isue with warranty.

Get logitech gaming keyboard suggested earlier.

Within Kolkata delivery should be very next day if they have it in stock. DTDC is very fast these days. Outside Kolkata, will take 2-3 days.

How often does a keyboard break anyway? Usually its the most reliable component among all computer peripherals. Should easily last 5-10 years without servicing.

Ask Razer that if Keyboard breaks down or not. Dont leave anything to chances. Should is not the answer when its gaurantee. Would it is or will get proper service. Becasue its a keyboard that costs above Rs 2000.

In DOA cases, the shopkeeper or the online store is obligated to replace the product without question. You don't go to service centers for DOA.
