What burning speeds should I use to burn DivX movies to view on a stand-alone DivX player?

It works real fine with me even when I burn it at full speed :)

Any cd/dvd writing has to be done @ 1/3rd to 1/4th the read speed of the drive.

Do a max of 8x... more than enuf.
