I need a nice phone, any suggestions?

I am not in favour of any Android or Apple phones.

With the right reasons I will chose the phone.

Im not very knowledgable in this field, complete noob, tbh. So please help me out here :)

Under 20K- LG Optimus L9- Great phone
Or if you want to extend your budget a bit then Sony Xperia SL@22K locally is good choice too.
Btw. if you are plannng to purchase a camera phone then don't consider L9.

People can provide more helpful suggestions if you fill out the questionnaire and specify requirements and needs. Like what would you prefer, a good camera, good gaming performance, good browsing exp, bigger screen etc.

Its useless check the specs on GSM arena

I don't think Nexus 4 will ever be launched in india
the previous Nexus smartphones such as Galaxy Nexus and Nexus One were never launched in India and the second Nexus smartphone 'Nexus S' was made available after several months of the global release.

A times of India article

Saholic was previously saying will be launched by 15 feb then said by 28 feb now they are announcing coming soon.

If you really want to buy Nexus 4 check other options like ebay or ishopinternational.

Hey.. If the price difference between Grand and L9 is arnd 1.5k more for grand (getting grand for 19.3k) then which one would you consider?? Only for the fact grand has low ppi, does L9 become a better choice??
and as far as info on its chipset its
Samsung Galaxy Grand DuosAndroid 4.15.0"480X800(187ppi)8MP (flash, 1080p)Broadcom BCM28155 1.2Ghz dualcore (Cortex A9)VideoCore 4 (dualcore)1GB8GBLi-Ion 2100 mAh
(*got this from the forums itself)

Experts Please comment on this one.... :)

The only advantage I see Grand has over L9 is the multiwindow feature and stock JellyBean.. dont care about the camera
If you dont need those features, then L9 is a good choice

Ok.. the camera goes off with screen resolution... Since Grand goes down in ppi whereas L9 goes down with the camera..

If i see rest of the specs Grand Stands better than L9.. so how does L9 becomes a better choice then?? :-o
Is it only because L9 thousand bucks is cheaper ?? :???:

Grand is better than L9 according to me because:
- Better camera
- Jelly Bean preinstalled
- Samsung's touchwiz UI(Multi window, Better notification panel, ...)
- Dual SIM
- Samsung's after sales support is better than LG (Be it providing updates or finding service centres)

When budget is 20k, then why go for a 15k phone. Lumia 620 is priced at around 15k. Lumia 720 would be released soon with price tag of 18k approx.

Grand is better than L9 according to me because:
- Better camera- Agreed but 5MP of L9 is decent enough. And its smartphone not digital camera
- Jelly Bean preinstalled- LG will release jellybean for L9 soon. And L9 with jellybean will just fly :D
- Samsung's touchwiz UI(Multi window, Better notification panel, ...)- LG's Optimus UI is butter smooth like Jellybean. LG L9 has good notification panel as well.
- Dual SIM- Most of the smartphone comes with single sim like S3, 4XHD, Note II. Only Chinese smartphone comes with dual-sim
- Samsung's after sales support is better than LG (Be it providing updates or finding service centres)- Don't agree with you here either
Relied with blue color.
Another point I want add Grand is overpriced device for the specs offered like low resolution screen, low PPi.

I take back my points from my previous posts
Although I quite agree with your points, but i couldnt agree with some
Grand has a waaaaay better camera than L9.. It doesnt matter if its a smartphone or a digital camera, a win is still a win
LG doesnt have official Jellybean yet, so its another +1 for Grand
Touchwiz may be a little resource consuming but Multiwindow is waaaaaaaaay better than so called Optimus UI.. Heck it's even better than sense..
Dual sim- So what if it was invented by Chinese ? Samsung aint no cheap chinese company.. Dual Sim will always be 2XSingle Sim, no matter how you put it..Some people really need it and find it too cumbersome to carry two phones
Last point I agree

BTW L9 has it's own fair share of goodness like Higher Resolution screen.. A few days back I would have also recommended L9 but after having a hands on with Galaxy Grand.. I was blown away from what it has to offer..
The multiwindow especially is really worth paying
BUT I wouldnt pay more than 20K for Grand if I were you OP.. so find a better deal
PS: Chipset of Grand is better than L9
PPS: S2 + is gonna launch soon, so you might want to check it out.. Its gonna be cheaper than grand

I said decent camera for L9 but we all buy smartphones not only for camera at-least for me. And developing current Os for old device takes time and money so you have wait for it as Grand is new device than L9 so they directly gave Jellybean out of the box.
Dual sim- So what if it was invented by Chinese ? Samsung aint no cheap chinese company.. Dual Sim will always be 2XSingle Sim, no matter how you put it..Some people really need it and find it too cumbersome to carry two p

Look dude dual-sim for smartphone isn't any advantage. lol I didn't said Samsung is Chinese brand and I haven't used cheap word any where. I mean to say most of the smartphones are single sim.

Touchwiz may be a little resource consuming but Multiwindow is waaaaaaaaay better than so called Optimus UI.. Heck it's even better than sense..
You used LG's Optimus UI before? I bought L9 for hardware it packed as well as the new fast UI
Multiwindows working fine with hardware it offered?

PS: Chipset of Grand is better than L9
Wrong

And you can get Sony Xperia SL for 22K locally which is 100times better buy than grand.

I dont see why it shouldnt.. I tried both Note 2 and Grand at a shop, no noticeable difference in the Multiwindow feature between both or am I missing something ?

Look dude dual-sim for smartphone isn't any advantage.
Yeah I thought this was another thread in which OP specifically asked for Dual sim.. For this thread's OP case Dual Sim vs Single sim does not matter.. my bad

PS: Chipset of Grand is better than L9

Proof please ? Every benchmark, every game I see Grand fares better..
Antutu, Quadrant, you name it..
IT might have been because of resolution difference though

But I have to say Grand's display is Grotesque.. L9 is much better at this

^^Its only because lower resolution screen. Samsung Galaxy Y also has videocore gpu although grand has dual-core gpu. PowerVR SGX540 on L9 is far better
For example- If HD7750 produces a 65 fps in crisis 3 in 1024*768 resolution and HD 7850 produces 35 fps in full hd resolution. You will say 7750 is better?

L9(dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 CPU) Vs Grand (1.2 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU) - I think Grand is clear winner here...

L9Grand
BenchmarkPi(lower better)480443
Quadrant3019 3931
AnTuTu71686053
GLBenchmark 2.5 Egypt (1080p offscreen)911
BrowserMark 213291252

Whatever the benchmarks say.... Grand is winner according to me due to earlier mentioned reasons....(As far as Dual SIM is considered, what is the problem in having this great feature. OP can use 2 SIMs: One AirTel & other Aircel, say, Airtel gives coverage everywhere & Aircel has cheaper call tariffs, net packs. I'm using two phones for this reason)

If OP can get very good phone for less why he need to spend more?Lumia 620 is having better internals than most of the current android phone available at 15k.

@anupam_pb:
You can buy an affordable dual-sim Nokia phone @2K why spend so much for grand then??
And whatever you say by looking on the benchmark, I will still say L9 SoC is better than grand . And L9 costs 16.5K in infibeam.com and by price/performance ratio L9 @16.5K is far-far better than grand @21.5K. Xperia SL will just blow away ;) @22K
Why?
-L9 has good looking vivid ips screen (For any touchscreen phone, screen is the most vital part. L9's has gorgeous display which grand lacks.
-qHD resolutiom
-Good powerful SoC
-1GB RAM
-2150 Silicon-Oxide powerful battery(small in size big on power)
-Easy to carry than 5 inch phaplet
-NFC
-Smooth Optimus 3.0 UI
-Lots added feature like translator out of the box.

If OP can get very good phone for less why he need to spend more?Lumia 620 is having better internals than most of the current android phone available at 15k.

Fully agree with you buddy. Lumia 620 is very good and capable windows phone. Its not essential that you have to spend your highest budget. :)

Well gaming performance, browsing and everything else.. benchmarks tell half the story, Asus TF700 had great benchmarks later i found out it was very laggy and users were not happy with it

and in what way gaming performance, browsing and everything else is worse on Grand than in L9 ?
BTw apart from the higher res display browsing will always be better in Grand because of the Multiwindow feature alone..

I'll add one more that is a big plus on Grand,
- Internal memory(8GB on Grand vs 4GB non-movable to SD on L9)

I think both of them are kind of equal, both have their cons, its just which set of negatives are deal breakers is a personal choice.

Why do you want to take Grand? See we all have done our job of telling you the best phone in your budget i.e L9, but still why do you preffer Grand?

Dont know wht this real world performance means... Why do the benchmarks even exist in that case?

Speaking abt real world performance, I can say that both the devices cannot handle Asphalt 7.
Then theres no point arguing which SoC is just little better than the other.

I mean to say, even though L9, in case, maybe better than Grand on performance, there will not be a significant difference between the two.

I would say, check the deal, buy whichever u find on a better deal, like ~15k for L9 or ~18k Grand.
Otherwise go with ur priorities, need a better cam, go for Grand. Better display - L9.

I could not decide and got an Ipad.

So, according to you Asphalt 7 is the only thing to judge smartphones!! We buy smartphones to play HD games only? Let me tell you one thing TI OMAP 4430 SOC(Dual Cortex A9+SGX540) in L9, for those who don't know this is the same SOC(chip) present in Galaxy Tab 7" and 10" series, Galaxy Nexus, Droid RAZR and a bunch of other high-end devices from 2012-2013, so, right there on the performance metric. Grand is bad only for lower screen resolution period. And I have seen this set on Samsung store, totally disappointed only because of screen.

L9 was the first Android phone i had, initially i was overwhelmed to experience the screen and UI, i thought that's what Android phones are like, but then i used other phones and i realized LG screen was far better than others in the same category , LG IPS are top notch.=, asme with LG UI, it's really smooth and clean.

People say Grand has multi screen, i really didn't like tiny jagged windows on a Note II screen, it hardly is as useful as using windows like in PC OSes.

Guys, I'm not pro Samsung or Lg. don't own dealerships of any.

I'm just listing the flaws I see. In fact I'm waiting for news on new devices like f7. And shall be the first to own one, if it falls in my budget. Maybe could even get the L9 on a good deal.

Wats so bad bout the broadcom SoC anyway?

Okay, if not to playy HD games, tell me why would u look soo deeply into SoC GPU ABCDs of mobiles. All other normal functions could be carried, I guess, on anything greater than single core processors.
No offence, these Q's are out of my own curiosity(im just putting up Q's here so that would help me decide well too), and ur answers would enlighten my soul & save me a lot of browsing.

^^
^^
I talked about only SoC and SoC means
"A SoC integrates all of the important components needed by an electronic system into a single chip. Rather than having separate parts for a CPU (central processor) and GPU (graphics processor) on a circuit board like you might see in a typical PC, a SoC combines these circuits into a single chip to make mass manufacturing easier and more cost efficient. So the SoC in your smartphone houses a CPU, GPU, RAM memory, audio converters, and often a radio modem in a single chip."
I have tablet with single core processor and it sucx big time. For browsing heavy page, 1080P video you need good fast SoC as well.

if not to playy HD games, tell me why would u look soo deeply into SoC GPU ABCDs of mobiles.
You know one thing many of the enthusiast buy high-end processor and graphics card not to play games but to overclock/benchmark . So, may be my interest is different but that does not means I can't do research.
