I have Krypton mobo (Biostar M7NCG) which is now more than 3 years old!
Stereo Out jack from On Board Audio has now given up. Appears to be a mechanical problem.

I now plan to install a PCI based Sound card. Can anyone suggest a suitable sound card whose output is comparable to the On Board Audio quality?
Thanks,

u can go for Techom or intex sound card which cost 300~400,it will easily give better sound than ur onboard sound chip.

I installed a intex 3d multimedia card but was not so successful.
First XP went into hang after detecting the card..I had no option but to hit the Reset button.
Second time it loaded the driver from the CD and after setup all I could here was a cracking & distorted sound and no clear audio at all from the Lineout.
I uninstalled and reinstalled just to find that now the setup asks for ds1.sys and there’s no way it is seen on CD. It might be within the .cab files but no way to find it.

It could be very rare that anyone might be using basic PCI sound card these days..but has anyone faced any such problems?

So as of now I am back to the original Onboard sound which is now only operational for the Left channel.
