Download the "Dam Small linux(DSL)" from here:
www.damnsmalllinux.org/download

this will allow you to boot from your pen drive.

most distros will allow booting from pendrive.

but the best of them all is NimbleX

it looks good, is slim, light weight, fast, runs KDE, and again, its overall appearence is out done by only its performance.
