Must apply latest patches, it gives some more fps.

I didn't played EFLC, BUT in gta iv patch 1.7 did a boost for me.

^^offtopic- Rockstar never delivers flawless performance without bunch of patches cramping up harddisk space..atleast applies to all gta titles after gta 3!!!

I am using that card and it don't deliver that much performance.

If you play with viewing distance 0 detail distance 0 the graphics will look real bad :(

GTA IV/EFLC will mostly depend on the processor. Quad Core and high-clock speed is what you need. Anything less, it will be slow. More CPU bound than GPU bound.

Expect Phenom II X4 955 BE to be faster than Core 2 Quad Q9550.

I think in this game you were CPU limited. You have Core 2 Duo E4400, right?

^^ Yeah your memory is real sharp. I have that crappy CPU. :D

set reflection, water and shadow quality down to medium, and definition off (definition can be toggled with the P key I think), and you can raise the distances a bit. set object detail to medium and object distance detail to medium, and I believe you'll be able to play it on medium.

Apply the latest patch, go to video options and select "Auto Configure" which usually does a good job of configuring it to your hardware specs.

But even on my quad Phenom running at 3.2 GHz I barely get 30 fps with 9500Gt. Or is the GPU too crappy?

^^Try turning down your settings?

All settings are at medium and GPU usage is around 400 mb out of 1gb available. Yes my game is patched with latest updates. It's a steam game.

It is the GPU in your case.

GPU memory usage doesn't matter. 9500 GT is simply not fast enough.

^Which GPU will be good for GTA 4 7770 oc edition or 6850?

HD 6850 ~10% faster than HD 7770. But HD 7770 is 25% more power efficient.

I suggest HD 7770 OCed editions.

Is 90 Percent Cpu Usage While Gaming Bad ?

i have intel pentium dual core processor E2180 @ 2.00GHz, gigabyte radeon HD5770 and 3gb ddr2 ram. i was playing GTA4 AT MAX SETTINGS and took a bench mark the following is the result with shadows turned very high and shadows turned off:

so, just wanted to know is the cpu making the game lag or the gpu ? since cpu usage is 99% and if I change the processor to quad core processor will I see any change and if yes, to what extent ?

Re: Is 90 Percent Cpu Usage While Gaming Bad ?

Your processor is a serious bottleneck dude. This game is way more CPU intensive than the GPU. Getting a i5 2400 will increase performance by quite a large margin

Slow processor. You need a faster one.

Phenom II X4 955 BE and Core i3-2100 are the minimum for gaming.
