If data lost is very important and you haven't created new files on the disk, you can try taking help of professionals(Data recovery labs). But recovering data yourself is nearly impossible.

How is it possible to recover data after formating hard disk?

I don't believe that there is any way to recover data from formatted hdd. Well, I will look forward here if someone might have any idea.

Try stellar phoenix recovery software.

I used it to recover my data wen my partitions got corrupted. It worked and i recovered all data but process was very long.

No idea if its gonna work on formatted hard disk but worth a try..

It is definitely possible. I have recovered by using FileScavenger even after doing fdisk.
