in the power options , advanced tab , use this setting
when i press power button in my computer :
select hibernate there.
so now when u want to hibernate, just press the power button ,quick and easy.

but to use that feature you will need to have power button on your keyboard I suppose... And i don't think that the logitech's basic multimedia keyboard has a power button on it.

If the Stand By option is also not available in the Shutdown box, then install/upgrade VGA drivers. If VGA drivers r not installed in system, then standby and hibernate options r not available!

Nope, hibernating == complete shutdown in terms of power input i.e equal to zero .

in win xp pro, you cannot hibernate if you are using the welcome screen and fast user switching. disable both and your shutdown dialog box changes to win me style and you'll get the hibernate option.
