chm file open in Win 7 or XP mode but a message "Navigation to webpage cancelled" is shown in the contents box. The same file runs smoothly in win xp sp 2.
Why is it so? How can I get around the problem?

Have you tried opening it in compatibility mode of IE?

If that doesn't help, try opening those in "Sumatra PDF". (Sumatra PDF - CNET Download.com)

Or, in Beyond CHM | Powerful CHM Reader & CHM Editor - Useful HTML Help Tool

Thanks for your reply.

I couldnot find compatibility mode of IE. However, while looking at the properties of the file I found that the file was blocked as it came from other computer. I unblocked it and now can view it.

Anyway, thanks for your prompt response.

Yeah. Files downloaded from IE are "blocked" for certain reason. Can't say if it serves any purpose though, since people are gonna unblock it anyway. It's just serving as a way to give our fingers some extra exercise :p

Nice that you have found the solution. :)
