I am trying to configure my MS Outlook97 with net. I have given incoming/outgoing mail address as HOTMAIL.COM. I have email a/c in hotmail. When I send a msg "TIP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by your mail server". I have " NETONE ACCOUNT LESS SERVICE" of BSNL. Pl tell me how to over come this trouble & configure my outlook97 with my net.

What you are doing is wrong. Secondly, I don't think Hotmail is compatible with Outlook 97. But I may be mistaken. Usually, we don't need to enter the POP3 and SMTP server for hotmail, because hotmail doesn't provide POP3 mail. It provides HTTP mail and Outlook automatically enters the required info as soon as it makes out that the account is for hotmail.
You can try this.
- Start Outlook
- go to Tools > accounts
- Click on New > Mail
- enter the required info and keep clicking on next and at last on finish.
Then it should ask you downloading servers.
