Is there a comprehensive list of windows xp files irrespective of whether a feature is installed or not? Only some files on checking the properties show that the publisher is Microsoft and not all the files...

If it's a .exe or .dll file .. then you can try *www.processlibrary.com/
for others .. google is probably the only hope !

Hi,
if said truely you cannot say its installed by Windows XP / OS or installed by any Application ,
i.e.
theirs a file twain_32.dll in %systemroot% and theirs a no info about company name
Twain_32 Source Manager (Image Acquisition Interface) . so i dont think it can be determine by the version info or anything ...

:)
