problem is next year (actually 2010 last quarter) Intel will bring out a new socket & this will no longer support i3. so any motherboard bought today will be obsolete even before this years end. also i3's price is a bit too high for the performance. i3 best if the user going OC. it can reach 4.5Ghz. at stock speed, its a waste of money at most.

if going by AMD, get this:

Processor: Athlon II X4 630 2.8GHz @ 4.7k
Motherboard: Biostar TA890GXE @ 6.6k (to support 6 cores later)
Ram: Kingston 4Gb DDR3 1333 @ 5.8k or Corsair 4Gb DDR3 kit.
Hard Disk: Western Digital 500Gb Blue @ 2k
Graphics Card: MSI HD5770 HAWX 1GB GDDR5 @ 10.2k
Optical Drives: LG GH22NS50 @ 1.1k
PSU: Corsair VX450W @ 3.8k
Cabinet: NZXT M59 @ 3.8k or Cooler Master Centurion 690 @ 4.2k
Monitor: Benq G2220HD 22” @ 7.5k or Dell ST2210 21.5" @ 8.9k
Keyboard Mouse: others suggest please  2.5k
