i have dell inspiron 510M laptop with Pentium M 1.5 processor 512 RAM and combo drive 40 GB HD

it has xp preinstalled....i m most comfortable working with ME...so i formatted it installed ME

problem is .... it doesnt detect the CD Drive, instead it shows 'removable drive' which is inactive even after clicking.

also most of the drivers dont work with ME...

when i install XP..it shows the CD drive in explorer...

so is it compulsory that i use XP? i hate it (no reason as such)... is there anyway i cud use ME in dell 510m inspiron with all drivers working?

regards

i don't have any answer to ur problem but i have an unwanted suggestion.

why u hate xp so much?? if i had been xp i would have died of heart break. anyway, i think ur fears or discomfirt regarding xp is unfounded. it is the best windows out there, and of all u like ME?? me is THE worst operating sustem ever launched by microsoft. i suggest u switch to xp, u know what, u can even change the look and feel of xp to look like me. if u wanna do one good thing in life, then opt for xp instead of me.

Get comfortable with XP. Or get Mephis Linux.

ME was a mistake. Microsoft accepts this too :x
