So I recently learned that routers have special UPS that gives a power backup of multiple hours. Before that I use to use a PC UPS like from APC and it doesn't even use to give me backup of even 15 min to my router. But after buying something like Artis AR-MINIDC-3 Mini UPS, I now have around 2 hours of backup for router.

Similarly is there a special UPS for a NAS? I use to give power backup to it from that APC PC UPS only, but that doesn't give any backup for even a minute.

Adding more details:
I have Synology DiskStation DS220+

It's power draw is around 15 watts and requires input voltage of 100 V to 240 V as per this documentation: *global.download.synology.com/download/Document/Hardware/DataSheet/DiskStation/20-year/DS220+/enu/Synology_DS220_Plus_Data_Sheet_enu.pdf

I was using this UPS: APC Back-UPS BX600C-IN 600VA (*www.amazon.in/dp/B016XVRKZM) which gives output voltage of 230 Volts. So it seems compatible with the NAS. Do I need a new UPS maybe?

Being doing so for a decade now. I use APC UPS to power by Desktop PC. And now repurposing it for other task like backing NAS and routers. However for router I bought a specialized UPS that caters to lower watt device. But looking for a good backup solution for delicate machines like NAS.

Ok after hours of research came to know that few UPS have this USB Data feature (known as PowerChute) which when connected with NAS lets NAS know about battery percentage of the UPS and let it do a graceful shutdown when UPS battery power is low. (Found from here: *www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/vn7ql6/ups_for_synology_nas/)

But unfortunately couldn't find any UPS in Indian market that has this feature. Very disappointing.

Edit: Only one UPS has it. APC BR1000G. Very costly though. Around 12k.

Have you faced any problem when the NAS shutsdown abruptly due to power failure?

What do you mean faced any problem? Should I wait for the problem?
NAS reports the improper shutdown in the logs and that is enough to ring my alarm bells. It may lead to data corruption if nothing else.

I have kept my NAS shutdown until I find a solution to the issue. Maybe will wait for the price of UPS to come down in some sale or something.

Perhaps get a inverter, it will power the NAS as well as your house lights and fans.

I had a APCc 600VA UPS first. But later I got a Luminous ICON 1600(1400VA) inverter which runs on UPS mode. Powers almost everything from NAS to PC to Light, FAN, CCTV
