I want to get a entry level dot matrix printer .....
=========================================
notes:
my printing will be limited to a4 size papers only.....
printing speed is not a concern
==========================================
please suggest which one should i opt for....please mention the cost also .......
Epson all the way. 9pin LX300 should cost you around 6k or so. The 24 pin LQ300+ is a better option both in print quality and speed. I think it costs around 8k currently. As for the ribbons, you get a pack of two ribbons in less than 35 Rs. Talk about economy!
thnx sourab ..........
i wnt this printer 2 get printouts of my college assignments ........ so quality is not a concern.... can u tell me which is the cheapest dot matrix printer available........
Well you can probably check out your local hardware market, may be TVS or Wipro offer cheaper dot matrix printers. I don't think you will get it cheaper than 5-6k. You can even consider getting a second hand dot matrix printer or one on rent from vendors if you just need it for printing out college assignments. Seriously, do you have any idea about the no. of pages? Getting a dot matrix printer just for them is really pushing it to limits.
obv if i get a printer i won't be using it for clg assignments only .... i need it for getting a hardcopy of my notes....etc....
i will be taking out around 400 pages for month ........
somebody told me tvs has a printer which cost around rs. 1700......
and would be a good decison 2 opt 4 a second hand printer ....beacuse i hve seen dot matrix printer giving nightmares after 4 or more yr of regular use................
Oh ok. I though it was a one time thing. I don't know of a dot matrix printer going at 2k. I don't know the current market rates for these printers, but 2k is way too less. Getting a second hand printer makes more sense, especially when it comes to dot matrix printers. Even if there are some hardware issues, local printer repair guys fix it at minimum charges. We have an Epson LQ300+ printer in our office past 6-7 years and there has been so issues whatsoever. So, well no nightmares so far even after years of regular usage. If your budget doesn't permit spending 8k on the printer, your only option is a second hand purchase.

Epson LX800+ is best deal for u
if u can have 2nd hand dot matrix then its great
firstly usually u have no issues with dot matrix
if there be a h/w problem its very cheap to maintain
I think for dot matrix, TVS will help u within ur budget.
does anyone knw how much does a dot matrix printer by tvs cost ...............................................
It depends on ur requirement 9 pin printer cost u below 5K 24pin will cost u below15
I have no idea about the price of TVS yet, but I can inform u about it on monday evening, Thanks..............
From my personal experience, I will go with what Sourabh said! EPSON rules in the dot matrix market and they are the best!
