and try doing the reverse... rollercoaster said its possible

Sorry Pathiks,
Didn't find that as easy to reverse as I thought. Moreover I also have a game DVD [original] which i would like to convert to CD.
Any other way please?
Thanks

which distro?? u gotta give enough info for someone to help u man!!!

.
.
.
the only way to convert any DVD to CDs is to get the file structure of the CDs and then seperate the files in the DVD according to that.

.
.
.
why dont u copy the dvd to the pc thru LAN

Sorry buddy can't use LAN. Two PCs are separated by a distance of nearly 20km by the shortest rout . Though both are mine they are in my two separate residential location. The game DVD is of Half Life. So is there any way out?
The distro is FC.
I did not mention these infos earlier cause I thought that there mist be a generalised method to get the job done.
So could you help me please?
Thank you

well, u can create an image of hl2 using clone DVD, or alcohol 120%, split in using winrar, burn the split files onto CD's........unsplit them on ur other comp & use a virtual drive to mount the DVD

cumbersome isn't it.................got a better idea, get a DVD-ROM drive

remove and carry the dvd drive man...

there are no "generalised methods" to do this.

donno abt halflife but with Fedora core there is one thing...
(this is a painfull method)

1. Go to the fedora website hosting the iso.
2. Directly mount the CD isos one by one in deamon tools via the webaddress(suppose drive x)
3. Run "CMD" and execute the following commands:
4. Change directory to drive x by typeing "x:"
5. type "copy .diskinfo c:\cd1.diskinfo"
6. Type "tree > CD1.txt"
7. Load the next iso in deamon tools and repeat the two commands above but keep changing the 'CD1' to CD2 and so on(in both commands).
8. Now after u have all the directory structure u gotta get working. load the DVD iso in deamon tools
9. Now using explorer create five folders named CD1 ... CD5
10. See the directory structure but running CMD and using the edit utility.
11. Now for each folder duplicate the contents by copying the files from DVD according to the CD structure.
12. Rename each "cdx.diskinfo" file to ".diskinfo" and place in respectibe CD folder
13. Make iso using magiciso or nero.
14. Varify the file size.
15. Any files u dont find in the DVD, copy them off by loading the CD iso
again in Deamon tools directly from the web.

I sincerely dont think u will go thru the above painfull process.
I am not aware of any simpler processes except downloading the ISO images.
Just think of my effort to write this procedure and try it. give feedback.
I havent tried the above so no promices but logically it should work.

Hi Rollercoaster
Thanks Buddy .
I'll surely give you feedback just give me some time. Moreover I'll remain pretty busy for this week.
Hope that you are going to excuse me for that delay .
thanks again.

Split the DVD ISO file & burn them in CDs first. Now using the same software join all
split files to make it to one ISO file. There are very good File-splitting & joining softwares
available. Use File Splitter Deluxe (*www.softdd.com/filesplt/index.htm)
Use Alcohol 120% software. Create a virtual DVD drive & mount the Linux ISO
file. The installation will start automatically!! Get Alcohol 120% software from here:

Thanks JGuru. Can Daemon be used insted of Alcohol?

of-course daemon.........
