i have samsung dvd writer SH-W162Z .Earlier it was working in UDMA-2 mode.
one day i noticed that while copying data to the hard drive from the writer
it was consuming 100 percent cpu on my 3.0GHz P4 .I opened device manager and found the writer is working in pio mode.I flashed the firmware of the odd but then to of no help. Help me to correct the problem.Please.I am using xp.

Heres the link

and use the following version 1.17.11.02 WHQL..

And other main thing..check if ur cable is 40 pin..and if it is...ASAP change it to 80pin..even that caused the problem

I encountered the same pro. Sol : Remove the cables, clean it, and insert it in another slot. Mine was solved in this way.
