I have P-III 800/180e Mboard/256MB/160GB HDD/DVD Combo/450W SMPS
2 ports USB (Non 2.0):p
OS is Win-XP (SP2). I have recently purchased Seagate-80 GB USB HDD which is not getting detected. I have also tried installing a PCI to USB (4 port hub) but still it is not detected.
However all USB pen drives work OK.:D
But this works fine on another PC
Kindly troubleshoot.:!:

external HDDs require more power than USB flash drives :p so they wont work in the USB ports that are in the front of the PC (cos they are low power)..

this is what I know.... see what you can do with this info :p
