hi,

I have a p4 3.0ghz EMT64 ,512m ram.

I recently tried to install fc6 x86_64 on my pc ... everything went fine but after restart before the first time login area the screen goes blank whereas the x86 works fine.

I have checked the dvd too it showed no error.

there was no problem while installing both the versions and the x86_64 also loads all the services (the gui part...like setting hostname and all that) even the first time config is displayed but then blank

Try switching to virtual terminal 2 by pressing ctrl+alt+F2, it may require you to log in. Log in as root and give the following command
Code:
system-config-display
Then
Code:
/etc/init.d/gdm restart
if this command doesn't work then try replacing gdm with kdm and see if that works.
