games and thier rushed/wrecked sequels

hi, many of us may have noticed that some sequels turn out to be watered down/crappy version of their first games mainly due to greedy publishers pressurizing the devs finish making the games soon
one good example is dragon age 2 which though made the combat more fun,watered down all of the aspects of its predecessor dragon age origins(like story,characters,setting and turned a hardcore Rpg into some nooby game)
also repeating maps made the game boring(go to a new dungeon you get the eerie feeling of deja vu )
let me know if you have come across such disastrous sequels

I guess All the nfs series after Most wanted.
The best nfs i played was nfs2,Most wanted and underground 2.

igi 1 was better than igi 2....igi 2 was really pathetic..

Master of Orion 3 , absolute train wreck of a game.
Star Control 3 , train wreck #2.
Deus Ex : Invisible War , not quite a train wreck but not as good as the first.

Mafia: 2 the biggest sequel fail I have encountered

even F.E.A.R series(though i've not played any games from this series )FEAR 2 & FEAR 3 were heavily criticized

CoD's case is exactly what happens to a game which gets a sequel in less than a year.every year. the game becomes stale

postal 3. splinter cell DA & conviction (nice game but Pandora tomorrow & chaos theory were better). Medal of Honor Pacific Assault (again great game, but Allied assault was lot better. i mean harder).

Splinter Cell Conviction though is not as shiny as predecessors but still it cant be called crappy or watered down sequel.
The new innovative additions(and removal) drastically changed The feel of Game and that too in a good way.
I dont have any objection or anything regarding it being referred to as poor sequel IMO it was not disappointing or bad-at-all. :smile:

Play them then report back dont go on what critic say..they said a lot of other things too...Judging games without playing..Not good!

2) TDU 2
3) Aliens vs Predator (not exactly a sequel, still)
4) Crysis 2

Also Colin McRae Rally 2005.

Only Delta force Black Hawk Down...the one i played and i liked.
Many people must not even heard of the new relases of Delta force series which comes every year and sucks badly everytime.
Use of extremely dated engine and damn bad game play experience.
The wholes series has gone sh&# after Black hawk down which was much ahead of its time.

more precisely Dragon age 2. the very first dragon age game was not
crap at all and was hailed as Hardcore RPG then, they made DA 2 and killed all things that made the original game likeable.DA 2 also had a second DLC called "mark of the assasin" which was more like a rip-off of shadow broker DLC for me 2

After MW, NFS carbon was average after that all were crap then comes Shift which was different but good then HP 2010 was also pretty good after that two latest games are again crap.

Well if you played Mafia 1(City of lost heaven) you can consider Mafia 2 to be very dissapointing.

Age of Empires 3 was poor compared to Aoe 2 the age of conquerors.

Oh, i forgot one more crappy sequel C&C 4 Tiberian Twilight. this game had the most worst DRM.the always has to be connected to the net kind even if you're playing SP/campaign
then you get a gameplay system that was not of the C&C series .cnc4 had NO resource gathering(no harvestors and refineries),no building production structures,and a crappy class based gameplay

combine that with a sh*t of a story(where were the SCRIN and LEGION go? did they just vanish?)

Dumbed down forgotten sands with range inducing DRM.

Battle field bad company 2.Battlefield 3.All single player crap.

AC: Revelations is also a crap..Brotherhood was much better experience!!

It was kinda good game. Different from its league. Terrible game was POP FS plagued with bugs and glitches.

^^dunno what are you talking about..i didnt found much ...errr..any serious bugs in game other than minor texture pop ins.

Very Nice Game..POP 2008 was never meant to be considered a part of original POP Trilogy.Rather it was a spin off...and lived up to whatever it was out for..The gameplay was total fun and so was the music and Artistic Visuals!
