Ans:win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?

Ans:nothing

8. When are you planning to buy the system?

For 6 cores Phenoms,
ASUS M5A97
Or
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD3H

How the heck did the discussion moved from suggesting a good quad core rig, to criticizing a member for suggesting a bad mobo for a six core processor? WTF?

^^Forget it mate. Jaskanwar should've told it for some reason. Let's stop this off-topic discussion and stick to the thread.

Actually, 960T is a hexa core processor with 2 cores disabled, making it a quad core processor.

in my opinion this is how suggestion be made to clear any confusion/misunderstanding:
960T+78LMT-S2P(rev 3.1)-->no overclocking+absolutely no unlocking to 6 cores
960T+880GM-D2H(rev 3.1)-->mild overclocking+absolutely no unlocking to 6 cores
960T+M5A97-->overclocking+unlocking to 6 cores

^^Well said mate. In that case would an i3+h61 be a better option?

it is a local shop byte solutions thirumala,tvm.

Just let us know the prices this local seller quotes. Also consider Logtech Infoway (Nadavanam) and Noveon Systems (Vellayambalam).

1. I didnt critisize
2. 960t is unlockable to 6 core.

And that applies to 4 core phenoms too.

The VRM circuit on mobo which provides the required voltage to proc is important esp when proc is 125w and above.
Cheap mobos dont have quality vrm and it can even lead to failure and fire when stressed (there are many cases).

I will say a ASUS M5A97 here.

Many People tend to overlook importance of Motherboard. For a Mid-High Range Build a good motherboard is a must. Its called a MOTHERboard after all :)

Better consider Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 @ 4.8K. This motherboard does support overclocking + Unlocking.

sorry for taking you wrong 22 :D I have yet to research over the motherboards and now m doing so by reading the stickies :D Also, even i would suggest the Asus M5A97 as it is marginally better than the Gigabyte 880GM and provides full overclocking support and unlocking potential, whats more, it also has 2 PCI-E slots and supports crossfire just for around 1.2K more than the Gigabyte board :D

3 months ago i went to logtech shop in tvm to buy a pc for me .they didnt have the conf,then i went to 5 shops but all same result,none of them had a phenom but they will make u buy x2 260.i think these shops only sell products from which they get max profit,so i brought most of things online

^^Considering OP's budget Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H wil be a good choice right? The M5A97 will overshoot the budget for sure.

well, look for these -

1. AMD HD6850 (preferably MSI Cyclone version)
2. AMD HD7770
3. AMD HD7750 (performance less than both of the above cards)
4. AMD HD6870 (is around 3K more than the above cards but worth the performance, and you also get a choice :D )

TopSpeed has overlocked the HD6850 to 1GHz but i don't know how it performs against the stock HD6870. Moreover i just gave OP a choice, it's upto him now :) .But does this mean that buying an HD6870 for 3K more than the HD6850 is not worth it because the performance difference is meagre? I read that the HD6850 give a greater performance/price ratio, so it should be a good buy :D
