The phone is for my friend. It's going to be used for gaming. So want a good CPU, gpu and battery. Also he is someone who uses a phone for multiple years so would prefer a durable phone

Thermals also matter a lot.

I think iQoo Neo 7 is coming soon, has D8200 and better thermals than S888 or 888+ or 8 Gen 1. 8+ Gen 1 is thermally efficient though. So, OP 10T would have been a good choice but is out of budget. So if you can wait for 3 weeks or so, might be worth it.

Else get a S888+ phone. Moto Edge 30 fusion & iQoo 9 would be my recommendations around 40k. My friend has iqoo 9, it doesn't get very hot while gaming (he plays CoD). The iQoo 9 has better thermals than Moto, so there's that.

Else, my choice is save money & get Redmi K50i. Dimensity 8100 for cheap, has inferior, display & camera. For both Xiaomi & iqoo phones you have to clean bloat, disable useless apps, disable notifications, get to minimise nagwares that nag you. GPU of D8100 is slightly inferior to S888/888+, but as mentioned earlier, it is a more efficient SoC for thermals & battery life.

I heard lots of issues in 10R wrt software & build, so won't recommend it, but can check its performance:

Get a normal phone and install GeForce Now to play PC games on phone.

Go for iqoo 9 or edge 30 fusion as like others suggested or wait for dimensity 8200 phones it will be cheaper offers better performance. If you need a durable phone for long term use you can check samsung s21 fe 5g which comes with exynos 2100 (slightly lower performance than sd 888 and dimensity 8100) but offers 4 years of os updates,5 years of security updates, service centers available everywhere easy to replace battery after 1.5-2 years

Exynos is worse than S888 & 8 Gen 1 thermally for a gaming phone IMO.

I would prefer Moto Edge 30 Fusion over iQoo 9
