I think 6870 would be a better choice considering the guy is still left with another 2k.

@OP: please avoid red color. It looks odd.
And for the config, the one given by thetechfreak is good, very good at your budget.

Here is my suggestion... Some minor upgradation with a powerful GPU.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 5.6K
Gigabyte 880-GN-USB3 @ 4.8K
Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz DDR3 @ 1.65K
Seagate 500 GB 7200.12 SATA @ 2.4K
NZXT Gamma Cabinet @ 2.3K
LG 22X DVD R/W @ 0.9K
BenQ G2220HD @ 7K
Logitech MK200 Mouse & Keyboard @ 0.7K
Tagan Stonerock 500W @ 3K
Zotac GTX 560 Ti @ 12.5K

Total 40.85K. Since we are suggesting a Full HD Display, the Gfx card need to be powerful enough to handle current and upcoming games at that resolution. That's why added 560 Ti.

Great config Cilus. But Seasonic / Corsair PSUs are better than the Tagan ones.

It's not like that. Tagan is also one of the oldest player in the premium PSU market and their products are also of top notch quality. Stonerock 500 is a very good PSU and can match the quality of the Corsair GS series and beat up the Corsair CX V2 series available at that price point.

How do you mean? I think it makes it easier to spot the 'answers' part without having to mentally separate a 'question+answer' blob.

^^Dude if you go for Intel(i5) you would have to get a less powerful GPU, which is indispensable for a gaming rig.
