*1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')*
Ans: Gaming :) , Watching HD Movies and Surfing.

Games like- GTA 4, 5(maybe), Call Of Duty Series, Battlefield Series, Fifa Series, Crysis Series, FarCry 3, Metro Last Light, NFS Rivals, Metal Gear Rising :D , Watch_Dogs, Witcher 2 and mainly WITCHER 3 WILD HUNT :) :)

*2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.*
Ans: 90k :) :) ~10k :D

*3. Planning to overclock?*
Ans: Maybe :)

*4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?*
Ans: Win 7/Win 8.1 Dual Boot

*5. How much hard drive space is needed?*
Ans: 1Tb is sufficient. SSD is must in this rig

*6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.*
Ans: 24" or 27"

*7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?*
Ans: None :)

*8. When are you planning to buy the system?*
Ans: Feb 1st week

*9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?*
Ans: Yes. This rig will be assembled by me ;)

*10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?*
Ans: Bangalore

*11. Anything else which you would like to say?*
Ans: Please suggest the rig which can play all the above games on ultra :)

i5 4670k - 16.1k
asus z87 pro -17k or asus gryphon - 14k
kingston hyperblu 8gb X 1 - 5k
r9 290 - 36k
wd black 1 tb- 5.5k
Samsung Series 840 128GB SSD @ 7.3K

A little over 1 lakh, but you could go with 280x instead and add some decent coolers(only 650W PSU needed.)

Recommend you to go for sapphire 290 trix oc and a single stick of 8gb ram so that you can add another one if needed.

Thank you for all of your replies, i am very
thankful for all of your opinions! :)

there are a lot of sites that have benchmarked
the GTX 780/780ti and the R9 290/290X and
all in all they will all do what i need them to
do with not too much of a difference in
performance.
so a price tag on the 780ti is a little
too much.
so considering the price of the other 3 i just
really want the card that will be most relied
upon to not give any driver problems or any
other problems that can come up with a
graphics card.

is it true that Nvidia cards are better known
for there reliability than AMD cards?

so all in all i just want to have a GPU that i can
rely on for the next 2-3 years without a
problem.

RIG IS FOR WITCHER-3 :D :D :D :D

There is nothing wrong in getting a Xeon for gaming. It's more powerful than a equally priced i5.

Can be an issue when you go for resale during your next upgrade. Hardly any in the general public will for a Xeon considering its not meant for the masses. My suggestion to the op, go with the i5

For HDD - Get Seagate 2TB or Wd red 2TB (wd provides better service support)

For Cabinet - Nzxt Phantom 410 white @ 6.2k

For Gpu - Sapphire R9 290 Tri x @ 36k

Ofcourse this is overkill for 1080p,but will not be overkill for future

There is no problem with amd gpu, both nvidia and amd make top quality products,Amd drivers have improved a lot now.

R9 290 is great for price,it performs slight behind then r9 290x/780ti for almost 10-12k less price :)

You sure that xeon and i5 are same priced ? Xeon cpu cost more their motherboards cost more ... they have OC abilities still their mobo don't support it.... so i wouldn't recommend .

Buddy, do a little google search. There are couple of Xeon Processors available, for both LGA 1155 and KGA 1150 sockets. They are basically Core i7 nok K CPUs with ECC Ram support.
Check this one: Newegg.com - Intel Intel Xeon E3-1230V3 Haswell 3.3GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1150 80W Quad-Core Server Processor BX80646E31230V3. In India, it is available around 17K price point.

^if purely gaming then go for i5 not xeon or 8350 processor they will cost more plus dont help much in gaming performance invest more on graphic card.

Will you please elaborate how an FX 8350/20 rig will be more expensive than an equivalent i5 rig?

some where i read that i5 is expensive comapre to amd8350 in cost but amd gives much more perfomance.

i5 provides better gaming experience but an 8350/20 rig costs ~2k less which can be invested in a better graphic card, thus improving the overall gaming experience.

Xeon E3-1230V3 is steal for the price it is available. It is basically an i7 4770 without igpu and better than i5 as xeon supports hyper threading which can be useful in future games :)

you can compare here - ARK | Compare Intel® Products

xeon cpu is compatible with almost all 1150 socket motherboards

some where i read that i5 is expensive comapre to amd8350 in cost but amd gives much more perfomance.

Nope.Amd gives more performance for your Money, but it doesn't beat i5 in gaming

^if purely gaming then go for i5 not xeon or 8350 processor they will cost more plus dont help much in gaming performance invest more on graphic card.

Lolz, Fx 8350 is very good cpu for money,In tight budget you can accommodate better gpu with amd rig :)

What is the difference b/w WD Red, Blue, Green and Black?? :D

There is difference of speed between them. Black > Red > Green.

Black provides 5 years warranty,red provides 3 years warranty,green - 2 years

Both are great cabinet imo..phantom is more eye candy :D
