I didnt read the trick mentioned in DIGIT, but u can get rid of the arrow by using following trick: :)

Open regedit and remove "IsShortCut" key from following keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile (to remove arrow from application shortcuts)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\piffile (to remove arrow from PIF files (DOS based) shortcuts)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut (to remove arrow from URL files shortcuts)

hmmmm...I use auto patcher to remove arrows on shortcuts..in addition it also removes the phrase "shortcut to" from shortcuts...
Vishal Gupta
Jan 6, 2007 at 1:47 AM
^^
U can remove the "Shortcut to" text by applying following registry tweak: :)

Goto:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

and create a new Binary Value link and set its value to 00 00 00 00

hmmm by modifying registry u can do almost anything..bt dnt u think its a bit tough to rem all those tweaks...so if there is one free and trusted toll..why not let it do things for ue..what do u say?

What for recycle bin?
Arsenal_Gunners
Jan 6, 2007 at 3:22 PM
can do the bin too.I found a tweak by which you can enable the rename option for the bin.Just rename it alt+0160.AND viola no recycle bin lable:D
to rename the recycle bin-

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\
(Standard) [String] = "Recycle bin" [default]
InfoTip [String] = "Stores deleted objects..."
LocalizedString [String] = stores path to shell32.dll
SortOrderIndex [DWord] = "0x00000060" List

Subfolder ShellFolder contains value:
Attributes [binary] = 40 01 00 20 [default]

Change to:
50 01 00 20 (Renaming allowed and context menu contains 'Rename')
70 01 00 20 (Renaming allowed)

plz rep me if it is useful

I shoot most of the troubles by the experience i got from creating and solving them myself.:D
I am glad to say that I dont have to run crying after a non-responding computerwalla.(except in case of hardware failure of course). This forum and google are always there to help me.
