Last time I was performing backup, the pc unexpectedly shut down, while the backup process was incomplete. After booting, the incompletely backed image was taking 89GB space, so I deleted it. But again the next time I turned on my pc, it magically reappeared. Since then I tried deleting it several times, even using the delete backup option from the Backup and Restore menu, but it still appears again. Is there any way I can get rid of this useless space-consuming file? Please help.
Try using a live linux to delete it. It should work.
Do a chkdsk on that drive and it will automatically solve yuor problem
Yeah, how do you initiate a chkdsk on a drive intentionally?
open cmd and type in it
chkdsk #: /f
# is the drive letter, It will automatically fix the filesystem.
"Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode" Shows up every time I try that.
Right click on cmd and select open as administrator and then type the following command.
chkdsk #: /f
# is the drive letter, It will automatically fix the filesystem.
Whohoo! it worked! Thanks man
