Gigabyte India sent the following message, should be of use to some folks here:

We are happy to inform you that GIGABYTE Technology has recently revamped its warranty terms with a focus on ensuring that every GIGABYTE motherboard end-customer gets faster and more efficient support.

As per the new policy, the company is offering a maximum 3-day Turnaround Time (TAT) in metro cities, and a maximum 7-day TAT in non-metro cities as part its 3-year service warranty.

This is really fantastic news Sorcy, now I may even opt for Gigabyte over Asus. Its high these companies brought decent RMA policies to India, and realize customer service is key to sales.

What about their graphic cards?
Gigbyte have separate management for motherboards and graphic cards, irrespective of the country. Over here, its only motherboards. GPU? Its brought in by a distributor on their own.

That you need to contact the distributor. His sticker should be there on the carton box.

PMed this guy. Had a telephonic conversation also.

But they are not able to give any satisfactory answer regarding the issue of my MOBO. They are insisting me to take a REFURBISHED OR REPAIRED BOARD.

SNIPPET OF THE MAILS EXCHANGED :

will add after editing

THE CONCERNED CHIP.

View attachment 14497

THIS CHIP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COM PORT AND PS/2 PORTS which have never been used by me. They are saying that it is for surge which is not possible cause i use APC 650Y UPS , BELKIN SURGE PRTOECTOR SPIKE and CORSAIR VX 450 W PSU. THEY ALSO KNOW THAT.

i cant see the attachment! :|

I am curious to know which chip. They could have simply replaced it. If the PCB area is not burnt or damaged, they could simply replace it. Digicare did the same with 990FX Sabertooth. Turned out to be a MOSFET problem, and they changed it. Heck the motherboard looked clean....like retail condition clean. Gigabyte shouldn't have left digicare for Accel frontline, but as per my recent experience, they prefer defending their mistakes and oversights rather than acknowledge and fix it.

Aaah that chip. They should be able to replace that chip, assuming that's the only problem.

But to be fair, what guarantee is that Accel didn't screw it up in the first place, I mean...this is how accel does it:
