Good music phone < 10k??

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a phone with music capabilities decent enuf to replace my iPod, plus a good camera to take nice shots on my bike trips. Please make a few good suggestions from the recent phones available in the market.

Extending beyond 10k is possible by a couple of thousands.

if you can pay 10k+, go for Nokia 5700 or N73me

Beware 5700 has average camera.Rest the phone is superb.

5700 has an average cam+has below average music quality..if u want to replace your ipod..no one dares the w810

SE W810i good music + good camera..

Hmmm.....the SE K790 seems to be a decent option, with 3.2 MP cam. Can anyone tell me how the audio compares with the W810? I would have gone for the 810, but the model is a bit outdated in the current scene...ditto for the Nokia 6233...

K790i's music quality comes nowhere near to W810

^^^ The quality is the same except that K790i doesn't haf megabass. The best option would be W610i, if you can get it.

no it has cam module same as K550 if I am not wrong, both have same basic hardware, except the software in both are different suiting their genre of being a camera phone or music phone. also they have the same build quality.

I personally have K550, so I know its good looking phone and both are quiet feature rich phones.

^^^ Yes. K550i is a rebranded K version of W610i. Both haf same hardware.

But K550is loudspeaker is much weaker and the headset quality of it on HPM-70 was much weaker than even my W700i.

Will flashing with w610i's s/w make ny difference in speaker nd headset volume?

^^^ I dunno what the default volume of the loudspeaker/headset is but since you are flashing anyways you can put in a custom acoustic pack. No audio issues at all

My W700i is damaged badly nd id wud take 4k+ for complete repairs.
What do u think infra, whether i shud do the repairs or get a K550i nd flash it?
I already have an HPM-70, charger, and an EP-630 too. SO itll rock on a flashed K550i na?

spending 4k on repairs is too much. Just try to dispose off the phone. Even if you get 1-2k for W700i in exchange (since its not in working condition, but can be repaired), its worth it to go in for a new phone.

If you are paranoid about 3G then you can get K530i, otherwise K550i is a good phone. You could also think about the K790i. Tho, you can't flash it to a walkman based phone, you can hack every other thing.

and if its just for a music phone, SE W350i is also recommended, but I see they are delaying its release here.
M thinking of buying W350i for my sister. The specs are good, and is a Walkman branded.

Once damaged, remains damaged. Don't waste 4k on it. Go for W350i or K550i

W350i and W380i have exact specs, just W380 is clamsham and W350 is candy bar model. Also, the specific music buttons in W350 flap, seems to be real good for people who really like music(its like a realy mp3 player).

Only one problem market release of W350i you can also consider samsung F250, it has 3.5 mm audio jack, so you can use good ear phones with it. and it is under 7K anyone with more experience of samsung phones can suggest

Depending upon how good a camera you want you can either get the W810i which has a 2mp auto focus camera with LED flash or K790i which has a 3mp auto focus camera with xenon flash. K790i also has a few more features but you'll have to spend some money to get a good pair of headphones for it and a high capacity memory card, both of which come bundled with W810i. As for the sound quality, it's similar in both.

hey dude in this forum praka123 bought W810I and returned it back in a day so you can understand yourself .

I'd suggest to stay away from W35/80i. AFAIK, it doesn't haf video recording.

that is one guy that I would never approach for advice.

W810i is one of the best phones made by SE. If one person is having problem with such a phone that has got mass acceptance, it means either that person doesn't know how to use or the phone doesn't have what he/she needs.

^^ firmware upgrade, checkup at service center. 810i is pretty stable phone. My collegus is using it.

Maybe he got a faulty unit,one of my friend got a faulty N73(which he replaced), but that doesn't meant all N73 sucks.W810i is a legendary phone with best 2mp cam.

it is still under warranty what to tell them so they replace that ?

^well,go and claim it restarts.be adamant on your word.they will!
I can vouch w810i is a solid mobile with very good build quality(except camera area whose glass protector may get easily scratched).

i think first they will update the firmware.

Backup all the data.

They will ask you to test the new firmware and come back if the problem persists, in which case it will be a hardware issue. then they will replace.

You dont need to backup all data, since they only flash the main, not the fs. you dont have to do anything at all, since all your contacts files themes will be preserved.

In case on board complaints, there is chance that the phone will be replaced. Two of my friends got the whole phone replaced.
And replacing will teke only 2~3 days but in case they decide to repair, it cud take upto 3 weeks.
Nyway, the problem seems to be mostly hardware.

BTW, my W700i's screen, board nd some ckts went kaput nd also the body now looks like a deformed alluminium vessel. lol

How about the capabilities of Nokia 6233 in music and cam??? One of the best models in the 5000-10000 range, I've heard.

they have taken the phone and said that come back after 4 days we will get it replaced but they will first check that if it can be repaired then they give me repaired one

i hope they give me a new one

+1 for formatting the phone doing the firmware upgrade, the hardware if faulty then get it replaced if in warranty, chances of hardware problem is really less its alot old now and really is one of the most stable release by SE. My colleague got it I tried hands on its camera and it is equal to mine K550i, except I like K550 with its new features and good looks and lower priced than W810i

and I said W350i if music is on mind. Otherwise W350i or W380i are certainly nothing of a wise decisions to buy, by spending just a little over these(adding 1K) you can get W610 or W810

Dominator... My friend has a working W700i, and it has a slight display problem, which is in the mainboard, as I figure. I can ask him to sell you everything except the mainboard. You interested? calls, messages, music, radio, all work.

6233 has a good quality camera that can even record videos in VGA resolution at 15fps. The music quality is good too but you'll have to buy a Pop-Port to 3.5mm adaptor and a pair of good quality headphones as neither are provided with the phone.

6233 is also a s40 device

the 6233 is a bulky phone with a lower than average cam...sure it records videos at VGA 15fps...but please check into the quality before buying one..the K750i provides much better quality music and a better cam than the 6233...and its a proven bestseller...

but if u want loud music through the speakers then 6233 is the way to go..for everything else theres K750..

Hmmm...narrowing down my choices to K790i and N73 standard. And guess what? I got coupons worth 2000 bucks from Pantaloons!!! So, the buy will be easier on the pocket...

Cams are of the same quality on both, so need to checkout music capabilities...I think N73 is a winner there, but the charm to own my 1st SE hold strong...

got the mobile yesterday working fine i think they updated the firmware now no crashes and no frequent restart
