Word on the street is that Google just busted out a live demo of the oft-rumored HTC Dream doing its Android-flavored thing at the company's I/O conference in San Francisco. Reports tell us that the device is a roughly 3-inch by 5-inch touchscreen phone with a slider keyboard. Not a lot is known right now, though apparently the device packs an accelerometer which allows you to tilt the unit to scroll across Google Maps or Street View. A video is on the way, so stay tuned for more information (and images) as we get them.

Update: Video after the break!

saw the video already .one word awesome!
I hope android take off!

My next fone is gonna be a sub 10k Android.

When is the first phone hitting the market?

It looks nice......Lets hope that it is responsive and not resource hungry.....

The UI doesn't look slick IMO, the black border around 3G, the signal strength, reminds me of my thrown out of the window in working condition, motorola. The icons too are very cartoony.

Well, its not confirmed its a HTC. Its rumoured to be a HTC, thats all, as if google would really display the brand name

that would be blatant favouritism, and unfavourable to other brands

But still, looks really sweet, wonder if Sony can get this android thingy too...

Check out the Android emulator bundled with the SDK. The final product should be more or less similar.

Good good, it's all falling into place, ...

so when can we hope to actually buy it.

whatever they touch turns to gold is it ?...
