A 256 MB DDR 6600 non GT is avalable at 7.5k from brands like Gainward.They(GF6 series) are better future proof than other reange of cards. U can enjoy all the visual effects of the 6800 on a 6600 at low or medium res. They support shader model 3.0 nd THE ULTRA SHADOW effects which gives amazing visual effects in games like DOOM 3. A 6200 128 is available for as low as 4k. If U can invest 10k u can get the GT itself which is equipped with DDR3.

If the 9800XT is indeed available for 7k, then no need to think twice. Go for this card. Regarding the 6600 non-GT, my friends are not very happy with it's performance. But the 6600GT is one helluva card. If you can afford this card, then definitely go for it.

If you're looking for something cheaper, then the best card would be the ATi Radeon 9600XT. Excellent performance and very good image quality.

For Rs.7000, the best you'll get is a GeForce 6600 non-GT. My 5900 does better than that card. DONT BUY IT!

If you can get an X700 or 9800 series card, then go for it over the 6600.
