The GTA:SA universe can never be reviewed with a mere 10 mins of play. You gotta seriously play through a game from start to end up you really want to review it. You just cant play a game for 10 mins, dont like the way it is, declare it crap and then move on to the next game. Its just not done buddy. And believe me, try to finish the game. I am sure as hell you will have a whole different outlook about the game by the time you are through with it.

As for the graphics, well, GTA:SA uses the same engine that was used for GTA3 and GTA:VC. It has been spruced up for this game. Playing it on the PS2 with the TV as the output will always be a dampner for one who has moved form PC gaming to console as the low resolutions dont look good.

The GTA:SA is VAST, and I really mean it when I say that. There a 1000 things to do in the game and then some. Try skydiving in it, run a casino, have a haircut, steal a tank, get a pilot's license, take a swim, ride a bicycle, squish some pedesterians, impress your girlfriend, learn martial arts, visit a stripper,.....I could go on all night!

Dude, 20 mins is peanuts when you cosnider how long it will take to play the whole game from start to finish with all the main-plot missions, side missions and all the exploring. take my advice, play the game through, if not now, atleast when the PC version comes along. You wont regret it, thats for sure.

i played gta :sa for Rs 12 for one solid hour

(yes i know its cheap.In my colony ps2=12 /hr,xbox=15 /hr ).
The game is not outstanding but sure is enjoyble, no one will regret after buying it when it comes out. so dont miss .

Finally one who likes the game!

Btw, when you play at a parlour, how do you save your game? I mean there are limited save slots. So how do so many people playing the same game on the same console save and resume from where they left in the last session? Or do you just start all over again?

its just getting so damn repetitive...GTA3 was so much fun...vice city was pretty good too....but san andreas overdoes everything...yes graphics do disappoint coz its a PS2 with its aging hardware....and i never liked PS2 controllers anyway...nothing beats keyboard+mouse combo

its not a bad game, just the same stuff over and over again...

well here's my view.....the graphics still same old as its predecessor....not much improvement in the texture quality....the playin pattern also remians more or less the same...San andreas though dosent start off on that excellent note as Vice city though....but a fair game for its fans....plus i have never been that big fan of the series itself....but a fine play here and there....

@ctrl_alt_del....well depends on whats pattern the game parlours are observing to save the game....if they have a 8MB mem card then i suppose they charge extra bucks for saving the game and later point resuming it....atleast thats what i remeber in one cafe which did so earlier

Btw if u start all over again then game aint worth playin cause its just to vast to complete without appropriate saves

One more thing before i leave....heres a site to check out for the Minimum Pc requirements Of San Andreas (not fully confirmed) *www.take2.co.za/product.php?id=52776

Thanks for posting the link allwyn. I think my PC will be able to run the game as its based on the same engine and the previous two games did run great. So no worries for me.

PS2 will always have inferior graphics when compared to the PC version. Just wait till they port it to the PC.

@allwyn: Thank God they dont ask you to buy your own memory card!

No probs.....well i possibly feel the same way as these GTA games arent that graphic hungry....btw SA as well is on the Same lines.....so wont be a big problem

well i guess it would be for now as its (PS2) on its way to GPU aging.....plus PS3 will solve that probs for next gen of Console gaming then and may prove in stiff clash with the PC considering the use of Blue Ray Disc on Ps3 and 64-bit Gpu engine

Yea right....and such a quote for me would definetly mean a punch in the face for the parlour owner......Just kiddin

PEACE 8)

Talking about PS3, didnt Sony just confirm that PS3 will be backward-comaptible with PS2?
Is there a chance that popular PS2 games that have been just released before PS3 debuts might be ported to the PS3 to take advantage of its superior processing power and graphics?

sunny and tushar, pls stop posting such stupid messages and be a little responsible. You are not supposed to misuse quickreply like this.

I personally own a PS2 and while I want to get myself an XBox, simply because of the games that I like on it, I will never go to the extent of saying that the PS2 sucks. The library of games on a PS2 is unimaginable, and considering how it can even play PSOne discs, you can imagine the sheer number of games. And you cant really say that the PS2 is totally outdated when it comes to graphics. I mean, NFSU2 runs like a dream on it, with all the effects that a PC user with a good video card would experience. CoD:Finest Hour works just as well as the PC CoD and looks just as good.
Sure, you gotta have a memory card to save your games and you dont have Halo/Halo 2/Painkiller/Doom 3 on it, but pretty much every other game that is made for the other consoles also ends up on the PS2, sooner or later.

@cody: Yes, the PS3 will be completely backward compatible with the ability to drive PS2 games via hardware rather than through emulation. But I dont know (or think) if the late-release PS2 games will automatically be ported to the PS3. I dont think developers would go so far as to develop two versions of the same game, and that for the same console manufacturer. See how StarCraft:Ghost has completely migrated to the Nintendo Revolution, completely abandoning the current gen-console. It would just be too costly for them to do such a thing, in my opinion.

yeh sure, that can be different, but i am telling u what i saw in 20 minutes (not 10, 20, double it is)

its feels like a addon to vice city

like they added a new level

nothing much

by calling san andreas an addon to vice city, you are praising the game. i know people who haven't even heard of half-life 2, far cry and doom 3 but have completed vice city several times over. if san andreas is "just an addon" to vice city its surely going to be a bestseller

You said it man....personally i feel the same way as this is also a major reason for the major boost for Sony's popularity...Besides Its a fact now that PS2 rules the console market in terms of sales and many other aspects as well

Well now this is a question we gotta ask ourseleves as no doubt its GPU is nowhere near compared to a High-End Pc but Still The frame rates that we get for various games are really mouth watering.....also considering in a few time PS3 being out then well PS2 will sorta be outmatched.....but thats then right

@ctrl_alt_del....well yes the backward compatiblity has been extended for supportin PS2 games via Emulation....check the news out here *www.ferrago.com/story/2068 but i dun think they will support the Ps1 games though....its said that once the PS3 will be out they'll dump the production of PS1

Also i dun know if this news is heard or not but its said that XBOX 2 is gonna lack backward compatibility *www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=dev&aid=3645 Quite an old news though
