1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:All AAA gaming titles.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 1.2 lakhs(maxed for the rig including monitor)+ 20K(additional for Headset and Mic)

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Yeah. Maybe when I play GTA5, Fallout Skyrim etc or render video.(Then revert back to stock preset) But mostly NO

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Win 10(but pirated as of right now to relax the budget)

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:1-2TB(as high as you can fit without disturbing the budget, I don't need an SSD, can sacrifice speed for more data storage space)

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:Here I am a bit picky. 1080p 144Hz are the bare munimum(No, Acer as they dont give warranty in India)
LG 24GM77 is almost finalised. Definately suggest if you know better.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:Nothing to reuse as of now except Keyboard and Mouse.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: 1week Sept to Mid sep

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Will be doing it myself, built quite a few systems before, so no problems there.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Online + Local(Depends on the price quote)

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Wrt to Cabinet, mid tower is a minimum.
Corsair 230T maybe?
Also I highly prefer 1070amp extreme for ZOTAC.(will 230T fit the amp ex?)
Intel 6th generation builds are advised. I am vividly unfamiliar with AMD.
Z170 board would be but other 1151 mobos are also an option, if it helps the overall setup.
Also how much difference would a 6500K make vs 6600K for video rendering? If the difference isnt very high I can stick to 6500K.(Again, due to budget restrictions)

Expecting assistance and Thanks in advance.

So you prefer refresh over color? this is absolute cool if you only play FPS games.
I have a dual TN monitor setup at work, the whites look pink at the edges, corners.

It's mostly for gaming. Like 95% time gaming.
It's no IPS monitor. But it has a nice color for TN tho.
Anyways feel free to add IPS 144Hz monitor in the same price bracket.
Although i don't think anyone exists.

Looks interesting.. Where have you quoted the price from?
Also Gainwards 1070 are well performing too and cost 3-4k less.. Are they any good as a brand?

gainward is same as palit, should be fine
drop the k processor and get a cheaper mobo, u can find budget for other things.

get ATH AD 700 and separate mic.

don't make the mistake of buying those gamer headsets.

Anyone here with any experience with GAIBWARD brand

In 2013 I bought a Gainward GTX750Ti 2Gb @ 13.5k and when I sent it for RMA to Savera in Kolkata I received a new sealed piece.
Now they have branches in major cities in India. Last I inquired about Gainward GTX1060 Phoenix GS at my Hyderabad branch they said the price as 24k and for Gainward GTX1070 Phoenix GS @ 35k
GS means Golden Sample with highest Boost clock and back plate.
Savera gives 3 years warranty for Gainward GPU's.

BTW OP where do you live?

Ask from any of branches of Savera for Gainward GPU's:Savera

I live in Jamshedpur. But mostly ill be busing stuff from Kolkata.
Also should I get 6500K or the 6700(non K).
Coz some time will be invested on rendering..
So, an i7 6700 would be better than 6500K? Isnt it?

Can you suggest any cheaper Z170 mobo.
And most proobably ill be getting a M50X along with a Blues Yeti.

Gaming headsets make no sense to me even.

- - - Updated - - -

Also what warranty does Gainward provide?
Coz ZOTAC has a superb 2+3 warranty service.
5 years of warranty make me shell out 3-4k extra for a ZOTAC 1070 amp ex.
Is amp ex really worth the 3-4K more than the Gainward?

There is non-k skylake chipset ovrrclocking by using bios which corresponds to the model number by using Z170 Motherboards.
Cheapest Z170 is Asus Z170-K @ 11.5k
PS: Dont update the above mobo to the latest bios as it will not allow to instal overclocking bios later on.

Yes you should go with i7 6700 if you going to do some rendering.

As for as Zotac is concerned its 5 year warranty for the extra 4k is really justified.
Now Supertron is dealing with distribution and RMA services for Zotac and their record is very good until now.

Didn't Intel disable overclocking on its non K skews?
I remember it was a thing overclocking it's non K models some time ago.But then Intel discontinued manufacturing such Non K processors with the overclocking backdoors..

Also what about other LGA1511 mobos apart from z170?
Are they any good?
And how do they differ from Z170 boards?

Intel stopped overclocking on non-k skylake chips by forcing vendors to release a bios update. This is why I told you not to update the bios to the latest version.

Apart from Z170, H170 mobos are good like
Asus H170 Pro Gaming @ 11.5k

Gainward offers 3 years warranty on all its GPU's.

This is awesome yaar...so that means we can still overclock nonK processors..so tje hell with K..
M going with 6700.
U absolutely sure about that tho?

Also what the difference bt z170/h170/b150 etc?
Some b150 cost like 5.5k.
Can save a lot of money.

You can only overclock i7 6700 using Z170 Series Motherboards only.

Take a look here: Intel Skylake Non-K Overclocking Guides > Intel Skylake Non-K Overclocking BIOS-List: On this page we compile an overview of all the Z170 Non-K Overclocking enabled BIOSes & Guides from ASUS, ASRock, GIGABYTE and MSI. Updated regularly!

Link:*overclocking.guide/intel-skylake-non-k-overclocking-bios-list/

Conditions on which you can overclock your i7 6700-

1. Z170 Motherboards needed
2. iGPU will get disabled permanently so need to use dedicated GPU

I probably would have to shell out like 20K additional for an X99 compared to a Z170.
But is it worth the stretch?
Coz just on the z170 ,I seem to be on the Apex of my budget, managing 20K additional would be tough.

One straight difference that I saw was getting a hexcore processor on X99.
But gaming wont benefit too much from a 6 core chip.
Yeah, I agree dx12 titles are more benefited with more cores but devs have to include this feature while coding.
Also even after 3-4 years when dx12 is up and running(with a nice sample space of games), i dont think a 4core processor would be redundant.
Would it?

How much of a difference would a Hexcore chip make in videorendering wrt to quad core chip??(asking)

Z170 offeres lower voltages(consecutively less heat output)
So, is X99 worth the price hike..

Both systems would likely perform similarly with the 5820k having the edge, but the X99 has so much more room and frankly you may want that for your intended work like video rendering. Its more lanes - its memory channels and CPU options too.
Go with X99 with i7 5820k if your intended use is rendering
Go with Z170 with i7 6700k if your intended use is not so much rendering but great gaming rig.

My need will be like 60% gaming and rest 40% rendering. I need a decent mic and a headphone too.
These two alone would cost me 20K, 25K if i get me a DAC.

20K additional for a X99 system, is getting a bit north of the budget.
Thats why I wanted to know. How much of a differnce in video rendering does 5820K makes over 6700?
Do you have a link that tells it in terms of some numbers?
