You'll must have heard of the Guitar Hero Series where gamers emulate their favourite guitarists using their consoles on PS2, XBox360, PS3
This game (obviously), is not available for PCs
However, I recently stumbled upon its clone which works on PC, Mac And Linux
Its called
Frets On Fire *fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/

This OSS has almost replicated the game on a computer where the F1 to F5 keys a the frets and the enter key is used to pluck

I used it on my PC and it is really fun
Check It Out

Tried this long ago.Real fun.But gets a bit tough with the keyboard. My song of choice till now is Message in a Bottle by Police

The rest are very difficult to master unless your finger have bled practising them. But very addictive I must say.

^^
Yup, I ran into it recently and so i thought of sharing it
Most Difficult Song... Sweet Child Of Mine ..Gun And roses

Yep the strings are very difficult & fast too.Tried Linkin Park's - In The End thinking that it would be a bit easier but got pwned in that too.

^^
same Goes For PAperCut, Jailhouse Rock, Hotel California
Still It is a gr8 game for TimePass

Indeed. If you have a wireless keyboard then it would be more fun.Come to think of it even a USB Guitar would be great just like on the PS2.

^^
