My friend's Laptop's hard disk has 50GB unallocated space(created by deleting an old partition) which can't be made into a partition. An error pops up while trying to create partition using that space. What could the problem be ? I was using Win 7 disc for formatting

try using partition magic

Free Partition Magic alternative & free Partition Manager Software for Windows PC, Workstation and Server - EaseUS.
