1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)
45K +/- 5K

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?
Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
Programming, graphics designing using photoshop and illustrator, gaming(would be nice if I could play some of the recent titles :D), web surfing, movies.

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?
4th gen Intel i5 processor, 1 TB RAM and at least 1GB dedicated graphics.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
a. Like: Lenovo, HP, Dell
b. Dislike: Asus, Toshiba

6) Anything else you would like to say?
Screen resolution ( 768p (HD) / 900p / 1080p (Full HD) )
Battery back up ( normal (3-4hrs) / extended (5-7hrs) )
Purchase place ( Local )

Also I wanted to enquire, The 'U' categorized processors from Intel that are available on HP like the 4200U, are they really that bad in terms of performance?
Honestly I am eyeing for the Lenovo Ideapad z510 which is costing me around 51k, but my parents are convinced that its not worth the money? :3
Does having a sleek design really affect the overall performance and lifetime of the device? :-/
Thank you for taking your time to read my post! :)
Hope to see some good replies soon!

Laptop?? You won't even find a desktop with 1 TB RAM.
Consider buying a Supercomputer.

Tell your parents that Z510 has better performance & also Accidental Damage Protection (even if your laptop falls down & gets broken, you will get it replaced for free, valid for 1yr)

Also Sleek designs DO NOT affect the overall performance and lifetime of the laptop.
Lenovo laptops have some pretty solid build quality, they don't give away easily. I have been using lenovo laptops for 6 years now and never have I faced a single issue. Moreover I use my old lenovo thinkpad r61 (I know it's a business laptop) as a 24 hour downloading rig.
