Some one please suggest a free antivirus+trojan remover, because I'm afraid my system is heavily infected with them.

I agree with anandk. Both r the best free ones. If u've internet connection, also install COMODO firewall.
Avast is'nt that heavy. It actually lighter than other costly antiviral solutions.
But now I prefer Grisoft's AVG.
