Help Needed Samsung galaxy Note Not behaving well

My Friend's Galaxy Note is not behaving well, Let me tell you what happen,

Day before yesterday he Tried To download Images from a mail (Gmail), In notification Bar Image downloading Was coming but Image did not get download. Now In notification Bar the The same message Is Coming From 3 day.
He Restarted Phone 3 - 4 times, even removed battery and Then started. But The message Is still coming.....

Take backup of your phone then factory reset it.

is there any other solution

Try "clearing data" of the gmail app from settings>apps>all and then trying to login again.
Also update from latest version of Gmail app from Play Store if it isn't already installed.

Tried that too. did not work. looks like will have to reset factory settings for that..............

If the phone is rooted, and has custom recovery installed, go to recovery and clear cache and dalvik cache. Sometimes, these things get corrupt.

Even if the phone does not have custom recovery, I believe stock Samsung recovery also has an option to clear cache and dalvik cache, but I am not sure about that.
