Can anyone tell me if i use a 512 Mb kingston ram speed 400 on a asrock motherboard which supports 333 mhz, decreases the speed or not
and by default the motherboard shows it as 266 but after changing the settings in the bios it shows 333

Since your processor is very slow, I think you will experience slow speed.... :)

You did'nt give the exact model no. man. But if the maximum speed of ram your motherboard supports is 333Mhz a 400Mhz ram would not work.

the ram would work, but at 333Mhz

i dont understand ur problem... what do u want to know...

the ram will just work fine.... ur comp is not being slowed down by 400Mhz ram... neither is the performance been increased....
