Please guide me. I am planning to buy a good set of speakers for my desktop and TV. My budget is within 5000k.
My requirements are

1. No brand specificity
2. Good bass & treble
3. USB slot for playing mp3 on pendrives preferrable
4. Mostly will watch movies and listen to music (60%: 40%)
5. Gaming infrequent
6. Should be able to connect to desktop, laptop, CRT, LED TV

I am confused between 2.1 or 5.1 speakers. Since my movie viewing is marginally higher i guess 5.1 should be the choice. But will it affect my music listening experience? I am not a audiophile. So i don't look into the finer details.

So please suggest me few speaker models which are a bang for the buck.. Has anyone tried or heard about Mitsun and John barrell speakers and if so how is their quality?

Please note my requirement also....

I need 4.1 surround for my TV/DVD/Laptop
No specific brand but like those tall slick standing models.
